Fast Foward to August of 2025 Randy Orton challenged Roman Reigns to a match at Bash in Berlin for the title but was unsuccessful in the process setting him back in a major blow having to start to the back of the line once again.
Roman Reigns has sought out many more challengers since that time but then comes the royal rumble 2024 when Cody Rhodes won the 2024 men's royal rumble match to challenge for the championship, But that didn't stop Randy Orton from lurking...
in 2025 Randy Orton Challenge Roman Reigns to one last time match at WrestleMania 18 in Philly but instead Rhodes was not having it saying he wants his re-match, So Roman Reigns agreed to give both there match to get them off his back after WrestleMania.

Unfortunately that didn't work out the way reigns planned it too be as Randy Orton came out on the May 08 edition of Smackdown interrupting The OTC Moment as gracefully asking him for this last match at Backlash set in st. louis in his home town. Roman Reigns agreed and said if he beats him he cannot challenge for that championship as long as he's the DWC Undisputed Champion.
